The thing I get most from this is Connection. The same way sex is a way to create a connection, and observer/performer is a connection. ("Relationship" works just as well I suppose, but it's a bit overused in our culture.) But by sharing the sounds of the shells, the two subjects have created a connection -- a strong one at that! -- between them. The connection is not based in the material objects, the shells, but in the metaphysical energy flowing from one to another. In such a way, it's as powerful a connection as sexual intercourse (with person inside of person). Or am I just totally crazy?
